What do you enjoy about Crook AC: The fantastic friends I have made
What’s your favourite Race?: The Signal Relays in February – always a class day out whether running or supporting
Proudest moment as a Crook AC Member: When my niece Lola ran the Neptune Relays. The improvement in her confidence when going to the club has been brilliant to see and was the main reason I encouraged her to join. She was understandably nervous doing a relay race with senior athletes but she showed up and did so well. I was nearly in tears when she set off for her leg!
How/why did you end up joining the club: I had hit a plateau with my race times training on my own. I was debating joining a club but wasn’t sure which one. I saw a few Crook AC runners at Durham parkrun back in Autumn 2012 who were so friendly – then a sprint finish with Jo Beckett one Saturday morning sealed the Crook AC deal. It was the move I needed to get back on the improvement curve and I have never looked back.
