Bio – Sharron Trevor

Joined Crook AC: July 2010 – A long time ago!

5k PB: 24.57 (paced by the lovely Caroline!)

10k PB: 51.00

HM: 1.44 – Gutersloh Half Marathon

Marathon: 3:57 – Berlin Marathon

Favourite Discipline: I don’t really have one!

What do you enjoy about Crook AC: Redcar half marathon where I ran with a group of 4 of us, the Manifolds and Joanne, the team spirit was amazing. Also my final Cross Country at Sedgefield in the snow, and that’s why I don’t do it anymore

What’s your favourite Race?: My top 3 are – Pier to Pier – I love a scenic run, Coniston 14 and Durham Coastal run – my times were pretty good in 2014/15 as I was marathon training! I think I am built for stamina not speed!

Proudest moment as a Crook AC Member: Receiving the Captains Award a few years ago for what I do with the club.

How/why did you end up joining the club: After leaving the Army it took me several years to join Crook AC, my brother Shaun joined first and encouraged me to come along to Crook track. Everyone was very welcoming and my second week was the Club handicap, and I came in first and still have the trophy. Luckily I had paid my subs that day or I would not have been able to accept the trophy.

My Biggest Running Achievement:

My biggest running achievement was a100k run that I took part in, this was in Switzerland – Biel Bienne and it started at 2200 hours. We completed this under 13 hours and were first pair back from our unit and we were the only mixed male/female team.

I also won the British Forces Germany Cross Country Championship in 1992 and had the privilege to run against Kelly Holmes, now Dame Kelly Holmes, she obviously beat me!
