by Jill Berry Denyse Holman & Jayne Henderson convinced me that it would be a nice idea to register to run Hamsterley 10k trail race. The day of the race we all met up at the Nest car park looking a little nervous and not sure of what to fully expect. We met with Mark Standbridge and Jason Marr too and we all went to collect our race numbers. The run nation marshals were lovely and the event was very well organised. Looking

by Brad Wight Another cracking club day out despite the downpour which managed to soak everything inside our once waterproof tent… The U11 lads were off first with Joe Hall Junior completing the 1km race in 5:20, he looked so determined on the long downhill finish, teeth gritted just like his dad at a NEMAA sprint! The event has undergone several changes of venue and distance throughout it’s long history. Most older runners will remember it as a 6 mile race, mostly up and down the minor road that runs through the centre of High Gosforth Park. Increased development of sports facilities within the park, such as the golf driving ranges and outdoor

by Denyse Holman After a five-year gap, I decided it was about time I challenged myself to run another half marathon. I had been studying Geoff’s Race Calendar for months before finally deciding that the Castles half marathon was the one to go for. Graeme and I have done a few walks up near Bamburgh, so I knew I would be treated to some fabulous scenery. Plus, given the time of year, I banked on the weather not being scorching hot. In fact,
